Program description:
The main objective of the program is to train researchers who will adopt a social perspective in researching collective or individual health, as well as the determinants and consequences of health.
This program enables future researchers to develop an interdisciplinary approach to research on health and society that fosters links between different fields of research and takes into account the needs, expectations and positions of the various people involved.
To meet the challenges of interdisciplinarity, students will develop expertise and skills that will enable them to understand the issues associated with the diversity of disciplinary approaches and the sharing of ideas, paradigms and methods. He will appropriate these tools to enrich his disciplinary skills and further develop them. In addition, the PhD program promotes research that is sensitive to the specificities of different environments, and consequently trains young researchers who will be able to adopt a practical and interactive approach with their partners from different practice environments (e.g. business, community, health and social services, government).
Backed by a social and global approach to health, a reflection on interdisciplinarity and a diversified methodological background, the researchers trained in this program will be able to make a significant and original contribution to current research issues in health and society, as well as to the needs expressed by the various practice environments.
