I’ve been away this week so this article took longer than expected to be published! Indeed, 10 days ago (July 28th), I was invited to the Closed Beta of The Elder Scrolls: Legends!

UPDATE: It is now in Open Beta

E3 Video:
My first impressions are good. The game is much more complex than Hearthstone, even though there are some significant similarities. Having played Magic: The Gathering for several years, I’d say The Elder Scrolls: Legends suffers more from this than Hearthstone. I doubt there’s any real esports, but the game is entertaining.
Obviously, the fact that it’s online adds several options that real cards don’t. For example, some cards can evolve based on your level in the game and certain factors that I haven’t fully understood yet. However, the pay-to-win aspect hinders the game because the player likely won’t be able to sell them afterward.
Here are two long videos of Acts 1 and 2 of the single-player campaign. The first two acts act as a tutorial, so they’re not very difficult, but they explain the game very well. Note: Yes, I know… I missed a few times.

Act 2
I will soon do another article explaining more about the PVP aspect as well as more details on certain mechanics.
To sign up for the Beta, you need to go to the Bethesda website.
