This is not directly a criticism of the game, but rather an observation related to my schedule.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I finally got a new PC. Of all the games I have in my virtual library, Assassin’s Creed Origins (ACO) is one of the ones I was most excited to play. To give you a little more context, I’m a huge fan of the series. I felt extremely frustrated in 2017 when I realized my computer had become so outdated compared to the latest AAA games. ACO was unplayable.
Last night, my girlfriend was hosting an author livestream via our living room. Unable to meet up or talk in a multiplayer game that required team communication, I decided to take a break and play ACO. It was a lovely little evening wandering through ancient Egypt and rediscovering a series I love. All washed down with de-alcoholized wine (I’m participating in the 28-Day Challenge).
I closed the game when I reached the last mission in the initial sector.

Without wanting to accomplish or explore everything, I like to do most of the side missions and experience every facet of the game at least once. Seeing that in a few hours I had managed to finish one of the territories, I naively believed that the game would not be so demanding in terms of time. That was before the full map was raised…

Instead of doing the readings I had planned for today, I decided to complete another section. Considering my busy schedule, it’s still discouraging to think that it will take another 50 to 80 hours to complete the game. I love the game so far. I still wonder if I’ll ever be able to finish it or if I’ll eventually get bored. I’ll have to schedule some playtime if I don’t want that to happen!
